What is included in Specialist Disability Accommodation?
This service allows for the providers to assist participants to gain access to and maintain a home for them to live in that they would be otherwise unable to obtain. The type of home will depend on the participants requirements but many homes can be modified to improve participant accessibility.
Role of the NDIS
Specialist Disability accommodation is designed to work together with a number of different types of supports such as requiring Assistive Technology products or Home Modifications.
How can I access this NDIS Support?
The NDIS may require that you have evidence from an Allied Health Professional stating that you require this type of accommodation to determine if you are eligible.
If you were living in Specialist Disability Accommodation prior to becoming a participant with NDIS you will still be eligible.
To obtain Assistive Technology products or have Home Modifications performed you must obtain NDIS approval.
